High Court liquidation list, 1 November:

You’ll recognise some of these companies from items further down this week’s U column, some with different creditors and different adjournment dates.

Dempsey & Wood Civil Contractors Ltd (Conal Dempsey & Tony Wood) continues to seek a court-ordered liquidation of Red Hill Homes Ltd (director now shown as Phoebe Adelaide Foley; previous story U, week to 4 November), which went into voluntary liquidation on 24 September. His quest has now been moved to the Auckland High Court’s duty judge list at 10am on Thursday 8 November.

Harrison Grierson Consultants Ltd filed its application on 20 June to wind up The Open Fields Co Ltd (Bob Wickham; the company was formerly Wickham Developments Ltd). Master Faire adjourned its application until 10am on 7 February 2002.

The application of Orica NZ Ltd to wind up MMC Decorators Ltd (Afeleti Su’a) was withdrawn.

The application of Phil Waterhouse Ltd to wind up Mainsflow Properties Ltd (Mark Wall) was adjourned to 10am on Thursday 13 December.

MG Contractors Ltd (Milan Laus & Gavin O’Hara) was wound up on the application of Acrow Ltd. Liquidators are Iain Shephard & Christine Dunphy, Paraparaumu Beach.

Homespace 2000 Ltd (Peter Turner) was wound up on the application of Hot Mustard Communications Ltd. Steve Lawrence & Brendon Gibson (Ferrier Hodgson) were appointed liquidators.

San Sebastian Holdings Ltd (Joanne Dempsey & Peter Finlay) went into voluntary liquidation on Monday 29 October with three applications before the court today to wind it up.

The application of James Thorburn & another to wind up North City Realties Ltd (Garry Aitchison, also director of Sunshine Coast Real Estate Ltd, Paraparaumu) was adjourned to 10am on 7 February 2002.

Kemikara NZ Ltd (John Edward Victor Broome, also a director of two companies which have gone into liquidation, Kestrel Valley Developments Ltd & Pacrim Charter Projects Ltd, the second of these with Digby Tuck) settled with Bernard O’Donnell, who filed to wind up the company on 14 September.

Seacliffe Properties Ltd (Murray & Jennifer Calder, of Calder Construction Ltd) settled with Fletcher Distribution Ltd, which filed its application on 14 August.

Kingcrete Products Ltd (Brendan Hall) was wound up on the application of W Stevenson & Sons Ltd. Steve Lawrence & Brendon Gibson (Ferrier Hodgson) were appointed liquidators.

David Hemi’s application to wind up The Housing Co 2000 Ltd (Boon Clid Chan) was adjourned for a fortnight, to 10am on 15 November, when two other applications to wind up the company are also listed.

Roseneath Properties Ltd (Stephen Kelly) settled with Euroglass Systems Ltd, whose liquidation application was struck out. Mr Kelly is also a director of Southern Hemisphere Land & Property Investments Ltd, Central Strata Management Ltd, Grafton Ridge Ltd, New Oakland Properties Ltd, RAM Securities Ltd, Contributory Mortgage Nominees Ltd & Contributory Mortgage Investments Ltd (the last three with Peter van Nieuwkoop, who faces a fraud trial in February over transactions at the former Reeves Moses/Harts brokerage).

Teague Construction Ltd (Glen Teague) was wound up on the application of Euroglass Systems Ltd. Steve Lawrence & Brendon Gibson (Ferrier Hodgson) were appointed liquidators.

The application of Centra Forklifts Ltd (Allan Wadams & Robert Boniface) to wind up Karaka Cable & Drainage Ltd (Ian & Christine Phillips) was adjourned to 10.45am on 22 November.

The application of Thomas Rupert & another to windup Soul Train Café (John James Penny, Pt Chevalier) was adjourned to 10.45am on 22 November.

Spencer Rd Developments Ltd (Douglas Hoskins & Albertus Voskuilen, Birkdale) settled with CSR Building Materials NZ Ltd.

Inland Revenue applications to wind up Bella Design (International) Ltd (Neil Whitehouse, Henderson) and Tokaanu Hotel (1999) Ltd (Anthony & Pamela Plunkett) were adjourned to 10.45am on 22 November.

The Housing Company 2000 Ltd (Boon Clid Chan, of Weymouth), formed on 8 August last year, faces liquidation in the Auckland High Court at 10am on Thursday 15 November, on the application of Tarzan Design Ltd (Ian & Christine Shere).

Tauranga Developments Ltd, formerly Quayside Developments Ltd (Nigel Williams), has been placed in the hands of liquidator Dennis Parsons (Indepth Forensic Ltd, Hamilton). Creditors must file claims by 26 November. Other Williams companies are Bean Rock Developments Ltd, 2000 Ltd (previously Quayside Developments 2000 Ltd), and apartments companies Bean Rock, Paramount and Killarney St Apartments Ltd.

Former Quay Park developer Magellan Orakei Ltd (Robin Sheffield & Geoff Honey) faces liquidation on the application of the Inland Revenue. It will be heard in the Auckland High Court at 10.45am on Thursday 8 November.

PNT Housing Ltd (former Motor Holdings Ltd director, nowadays real estate agent Peter Noel Turner) faces liquidation on the application of Inland Revenue. It will be heard in the Auckland High Court at 10.45am on Thursday 8 November. Mr Turner, of Remuera, was adjudicated bankrupt on 6 June. Other Turner companies are PN Turner Investments Ltd, Cannon Corp Ltd (double n), Sycamore Properties Ltd (in receivership) & Homespace 2000 Ltd.

B & R Quality Homes Ltd (Brendan David & Cecil Ross Taylor, Conifer Grove) faces liquidation on the application of Inland Revenue. It will be heard in the Auckland High Court at 10.45am on Thursday 8 November.

Commercial Partitioners NZ Ltd (Sunil Prasad) faces liquidation on the application of Inland Revenue. It will be heard in the Auckland High Court at 10am on Thursday 8 November. Mr Prasad also has Wallboard Services NZ Ltd.

Southern Restaurants Ltd (director is Neville Mahon, of the Woodland Group & numerous other companies) faces liquidation in the Auckland High Court at 10am on Thursday 15 November on the application of Paul Brian Bett, of Christchurch.

Lamp Man Ltd (Sunil Raniga) faces liquidation in the Auckland High Court at 10am on Thursday 8 November on the application of AGM Publishing Ltd. Mr Raninga is also a director of Lighting NZ Ltd.

Northern Ceilings Ltd (Nicolas Rodokal, Whenuapai) faces liquidation in the Auckland High Court at 10.45am on Thursday 8 November on the application of Inland Revenue. Other Rodokal companies are Northern Ceilings NZ Ltd, Northland Ceilings Ltd & Estoon Holdings Ltd.

Tamaki Developments Ltd (Caroline Washbourn, Whangamata) faces liquidation in the Hamilton High Court at 10.45am on Monday 5 November on the application of Inland Revenue.

Redfern Properties Ltd (Ross Farron) faces liquidation in the Auckland High Court at 10.45am on Thursday 8 November on the application of Inland Revenue.

Teague Construction Ltd (Glen Teague) faces liquidation in the Auckland High Court at 10.45am on Thursday 1 November on the application of Euroglass Systems Ltd.

Pakiri Farms Trust Ltd (Roko Urlich, of Whangarei) was placed in receivership (receiver Anthony McCullagh) on 19 October. Mr Urlich has had Greg Davison (of two companies in liquidation over a troubled downtown apartment project, Nautilus Developments Ltd & Golden Gate Holdings Ltd) fronting development proposals for a resort just inland from Pakiri Beach.

Anthony McCullagh was also appointed receiver on 19 October of a company in liquidation, Valley Fields Ltd (Keith Cronin & Ian Christie). Both are also directors of East Fields Ltd and Mr Christie of Counties Realty Ltd.

John Buchanan, liquidator of Ambrico Apartments Ltd (Garry Grant & Max Mathers), has called a creditors’ meeting for 11.30am on Thursday 1 November at the Channel View Lounge, 3 Gibbons St, Takapuna. Proxies, voting letters & unsecured claim forms have to be with Mr Buchanan by 4pm Tuesday 30 October. Also in liquidation is United Homes 1994 Ltd. Other companies the two men direct include Paradise Shores Resort Ltd, Tuscany Towers Ltd, Denby Heights Ltd, Pacific Marlin Resort Ltd, Shadow Ridge Investments Ltd & Mountain Holidays Queenstown Ltd (resigned).

City Viaduct Café Ltd (Bing Wong & Ben Young) faces liquidation in the Auckland High Court at 10.45am on Thursday 15 November on the application of Waterfront Retail Ltd (Russell Clarke & Vino Ramayah), which filed its application in April.

Trust Asset Management Ltd (Stuart Robertson, Te Atatu) faces liquidation in the Auckland High Court at 10.45am on Thursday 8 November on the application of law firm Phillips Fox. Another Robertson company, Agio Trustees Co Ltd, faced liquidation in the Auckland High Court last week but the hearing was adjourned to 15 November. In August, Mr Robertson was named receiver of Riversdale Lane Ltd (Hamish Buxton), two days before Gerard Hulst was appointed its liquidator.

Vines Management Ltd (James McGee) was placed in liquidation in the Auckland High Court last Thursday, under the control of Gerry Rea & Paul Sargison, who are also liquidators of the company which sought Vines Management’s winding up, BA Ltd (Bruce Fyfe). Mr McGee is also the director of Sentinel Asset Management Ltd, incorporated on 1 May. Mr Fyfe is director of a number of property companies, including Bruce Fyfe Homes Ltd (also in the hands of liquidators Rea & Sargison), and of Fairhaven Properties Ltd with Mrs Phoebe Foley (see Red Hill Homes liquidation under scrutiny, 27 September).

Mainprop Commercial Ltd (Jocelyn Joy Murray) was wound up in the Auckland High Court on the application of Inland Revenue last Thursday, with Gerard Hulst named as liquidator. Creditors must file claims with the liquidator by Monday 24 December.

Inland Revenue advertised its application to wind up Mays Road Developments Ltd (Greg & Rod Nielsen) on 15 August and got to a hearing date last week, but the company was placed in voluntary liquidation on 16 August.

The Open Fields Co Ltd (Bob Wickham; the company changed its name from Wickham Developments Ltd) faced liquidation in the Auckland High Court last Thursday on the application of TG Paterson Contracting Ltd (Terry & Karen Paterson), which was granted a single long adjournment — to 10.45am on 21 January 2002. Also named as a (much bigger) creditor was Bell Securities Pty Ltd, a law firm’s nominee company.

North Shore Glass Co Ltd settled & withdrew its application to wind up New York Gear Ltd (Peter Watt) in the Auckland High Court last Thursday.

Castlerock Property Holdings Ltd (Greg & Rod Nielsen) and Far North Property Developments Ltd (Christopher Mansfield) got into the Auckland High Court last Thursday on a winding-up application by Far North, but based on two statutory demands which the court set aside in early September. Master Tomas Kennedy-Grant acknowledged that Castlerock had had to pay Far North “a significant amount” to settle the demands, but awarded costs to Castlerock.

2M Construction Ltd (Matthew Hutchinson, Wellington), wound up on 1 October with Steve Lawrence & Brendon Gibson (Ferrier Hodgson & Co) named as liquidators, will hold a creditors’ meeting at 9am on Wednesday 7 November at the Tower Centre, 45 Queen St. Another Hutchinson company, Malibu Homes Ltd, lasted just under a year. It was wound up by the shareholders on 2 October, with Robert Merlo appointed liquidator.

Harvey’s Eastern Suburbs Ltd (Ross Barraclough) was voluntarily liquidated on 14 September. Creditors’ claims must be filed with liquidator Michael Gale of Gale & Associates Ltd by 16 November.
