SkyCity Entertainment Group Ltd has closed its New Zealand casino & entertainment facilities in Auckland, Hamilton & Queenstown following the Government’s announcement on Monday that the Covid-19 alert level had increased to level 3, increasing to level 4 today.
The higher alert levels mandated the immediate closure of all non-essential services.
SkyCity’s Auckland hotels will remain open temporarily to accommodate guests currently staying there, pending further advice from the Government.
The company has also closed its Adelaide casino after the Australian Government ordered the immediate closure of all licensed clubs, pubs, cinemas, casinos, nightclubs & places of worship.
As a consequence of the closures, the company has withdrawn its updated earnings guidance issued last week.
