The Reserve Bank of NZ received the initiative of the year award in London last night for its bank financial strength dashboard.
The central banking awards, by London-based Infopro Digital Services Ltd, are in their 6th year.
Infopro said very few central banks had opened up their financial system to public scrutiny to quite the same level as the Reserve Bank of NZ.
The bank’s head of financial system policy analysis, Toby Fiennes, said at the awards event: “The Reserve Bank has taken a lead among central banks by developing the dashboard as a way to make it easy for investors & analysts to understand the financial position of banks. This is an important aspect of ensuring a sound financial system. Interest in the dashboard has been immense.”
