TH2, a joint venture between Thor Industries Inc of the US and NZX-listed Tourism Holdings Ltd, has merged its CamperMate & Roadtrippers Australasia businesses with leading Australian outdoor tourism marketplaces GoSeeAustralia and Outdoria. The transaction took effect last Friday.
TH2 chief executive Danny Hest said bringing all 4 businesses together in one entity would make it the largest dedicated marketplace for outdoor tourism in Australia & New Zealand. TH2 will be the largest shareholder with a 35% stake. The other shareholders are Discovery Holiday Parks, interests associated with Gerry Ryan (founder & managing director of Jayco Australia) & Marketplacer.
Mr Hest said customers would be able to research, plan & book their camping or self-drive holidays, as well as rent or buy equipment ranging from campervans to recreational vehicles, mountain bikes to surfboards.
Mr Hest said: “We found the businesses were very complementary, and bringing them together will create a unique set of features in camping & outdoor adventure experiences. We believe this transaction positions us well to continue expansion in the region.”
Thor Industries is an American manufacturer of recreational vehicles. It sells towable & motorized RVs through its subsidiaries brands including Airstream, Heartland RV, Jayco & Livin Lite RV.
