Christchurch City Council regeneration agency Development Christchurch Ltd won 2 Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) annual awards last week for a sustainability project & innovation.
Its awards success came a fortnight after chief executive Rob Hall resigned and amid local media criticism of its performance and suggestions that it would be closed down or have its role merged with those of other entities.
The annual awards were announced progressively through the week.
A lifetime achievement award went to Maynard Marks Ltd director Trevor Jones, who’s been a RICS member for 36 years. He’s represented the institution at local & Oceania levels and has contributed to the development of various RICS publications & guidance notes for local, Oceania & wider international use, has assessed many candidates for professional competence, lectured on building surveying at Auckland University, was a BRANZ accredited advisor, presented training modules on asset management to Institute of Building Surveyors members and is the immediate past president of that institute.
