Raymond faces criminal charges
Three-times bankrupt property developer Graeme Brent Raymond made his first court appearance today on five charges laid by the Ministry of Commerce (now the Ministry of Economic Development).
Raymond, 37, has been charged with perjury, making a false statement, contributing to his insolvency by gambling and extravagant living, concealing property and making misleading statements to the Official Assignee.
After a brief appearance in the Auckland District Court, he was remanded to a pre-depositions hearing on 9 June.
Raymond was director of apartment development companies First Investments and Rock Investments. His development group collapsed early in 1998 and he was bankrupted for the third time in August 1998.
