CBD, Quay St, Ferry Basin section of seawall (footpath & road corridor), coastal marine area between Princes & Queens Wharves, adjacent lots on northern side of Quay St, application by Auckland Transport to construct either a post & panel wall seaward of the existing ‘seawall’ or a series of jet grout columns landward of the existing ‘seawall’ on the northern side of Quay St about 90m long, plus upgrades to the ‘existing seawall’; the post & panel wall or jetgrout columns are proposed for seismic strengthening purposes, in particular by protecting Quay St & the services within it, this proposal represents the Ferry Basin section of the Quay St seawall upgrade project; the remaining sections of the project are the subject of separate resource consent applications; submissions close Wednesday 19 December

CBD, Quay St, Princes Wharf section of seawall (footpath & road corridor) between the corner of Lower Hobson St & Quay St and the eastern extent of Princes Wharf, application by Auckland Transport to construct either an in-ground palisade wall or a series of jet grout columns landward of the existing ‘seawall’ on the northern side of Quay St about 105m long for seismic strengthening, in particular by protecting Quay St & the services within it; this proposal represents the Princes Wharf section of the Quay St seawall upgrade project; the remaining sections of the project are the subject of separate resource consent applications; submissions close Wednesday 19 December

CBD, 85-89 Quay St, Queens Wharf & water space of the Waitemata Harbour adjacent to the western side of Queens Wharf, application by Auckland Transport for resource consent to construct, operate & maintain 6 new ferry berths on the western side of Queens Wharf within the Downtown Ferry Basin (piers A-F), undertake modifications to the existing ferry terminal buildings (located atexisting pier 1 & pier 2) & historic shelter, and remove existing piers 3 & 4; this will require the installation of a concrete piled breakwater immediately adjacent to the west of Queens Wharf, the installation of reverse sawtooth-shaped pontoons, 3 gangways, 3 fixed shelter structures, piles, pileguard markers & fenders; modifications to the existing ferry terminal building at pier 1 include the removal of the East Annexe Building, construction of new façades, removal of the ticket gates, replacement of the upper louvres, and the construction of new retail/food & beverage facilities within the existing terminal building; modifications to the historic shelter include modification of the northern face & the insertion of skylights in the roof; modifications to the open spaces to the east & south of the building are also proposed; modifications to the terminal building at pier 2 include relocating ancillary office space and repositioning passenger waiting space; demolition of existing piers 3 & 4 will involve the removal of gangways, pontoons & piles; the timing of the demolition is dependent on the new berths being fully operational and whether additional layover/decant space may be required for future stage 2 works; submissions close Monday 17 December
