This week’s a short one, but packed with activity at the region’s local boards. On top of regular reports on business improvement districts and from regional organisations such as Panuku & Auckland Transport, they have feedback to consider on the Government’s proposals for urban development authorities.
A number of boards also have important local issues to consider:
- At Henderson-Massey, a request for an upgrade at the Te Atatu Peninsula town centre
- Kaipatiki, stage 2 of the Birkenhead mainstreet upgrade
- Mangere-Otahuhu, a submission on the East-West Link proposal
- Orakei, a proposal to get a heritage assessment underway, and
- Rodney, Vision Wellsford seeking the first structure plan for Wellsford & Te Hana since 2000, particularly taking note of the differences the State Highway 1 motorway extension will make.
The city centre advisory board has lost its chair, Kate Healy, and is about to lose her deputy, John Coop, and will vote on replacements this week.
In the listed property sector, the meeting that ought to decide NPT Ltd’s future – but might yet leave its fate up in the air – is scheduled for Friday.
The world masters games kick off on Friday and run for the next 9 days, playing an important effect on the accommodation sector.
And Parliament is in recess for the school holidays – appropriate?
