Auckland City Council has set up a working party under deputy mayor David Hay to address issues raised by the Building Industry Association’s decision to deregister Approved Building Certifiers Ltd.
Mr Hay said the decision left 905 projects in Auckland City in limbo, out of about 5000 around Auckland.
The first clear point is that all will have to have new inspections done.
The BIA said when it announced ABC’s deregistration on Tuesday an orderly transfer of its work could be done in 2 weeks.
The council set up its bipartisan working party – Cllr Hay, finance & corporate business committee chairman Cllr Douglas Armstrong and City Vision leader Cllr Bruce Hucker – at last night’s council meeting.
