Botany Town Centre’ s owner, the AMP Capital Property Portfolio, began a $6.5 million development in its Fountain Lane North precinct on 23 May, with completion scheduled for 20 October.
Senior marketing manager Desiree Clark said shoppers had asked for the new retailers: “The work will result in a new fashion destination with a high-end, contemporary look & feel with plenty of natural light, plush seating & an upmarket aesthetic.”
The project will add 280m2 of retail space to Fountain Lane North. The precinct will also be roofed in & weatherproofed, shop fronts will be brought forward to improve their visibility, the Italianate finishes & columns will be removed, the level of the piazza floor will be raised to resemble the Pavilions level and the Pavilions amenities will be upgraded & renovated.
Botany Town Centre, managed by AMP Capital Investors (NZ) Ltd, has 176 specialty stores, including banks, fashion stores, café & restaurant chains, one of Auckland’s largest Farmers stores, a New World supermarket, cinemas, a pub, the Botany Library and a variety of medical & health providers.
