CDL Hospitality Trusts (as owner) and Millennium & Copthorne Hotels NZ Ltd (as manager) said yesterday they’d renewed the management lease of the Grand Millennium Auckland on Mayoral Drive for a further 3-year term from September.
The hotel, across Mayoral Drive from the former council administration building and the town hall, is the largest hotel in New Zealand, with 452 rooms.
The CDL hospitality trusts, 2 stapled members of the Hong Leong Group of Singapore, bought the hotel from the Abacus Property Group in 2006. Hong Leong also owns 70% of Millennium & Copthorne NZ, the hotel’s manager.
Millennium & Copthorne managing director BK Chiu said yesterday the NZX-listed company’s network and its sales & marketing organisation in New Zealand had lifted the trading performance of the hotel.
