Real estate studies will be introduced to selected secondary schools late next year. Real ITO, the industry training arm of the real estate industry, is working in partnership with the Real Estate Institute on level 2 & 3 qualifications for secondary school students. Real ITO chief executive Lesley Southwick said today almost all the 17,000 people licensed under the Real Estate Agents Act entered the sector as adults from a previous job, and turnover of real estate employees was relatively high: “Our intention is to make sure a career in real estate can be viewed in the same way as a career in finance or any other specialist skills career. "Offering very early qualifications and opportunities to advance these studies will encourage more people into long-term careers and create a more committed, less transient workforce."
