Riverhead structure plan out for comment

Other details: Senior council town planner Jason Evans said the draft structure plan was a major advance for what he called a long & exhausting process. More than 150 people saw an early draft released last October and dozens of submissions had been received since then.

 

Riverhead resident & Future Urban Landowner Group spokesman Leo Floyd said the group supported good urban design and was particularly keen to see the development of substantial pond area with adjoining reserves & linked walkways in Riverhead.

 

Key elements are:

 

generally a minimum of 800m² section sizes for existing Riverheada mixture of section sizes between 600-1200m² for new planning areas to the north & south of the existing settlementnew retail provision anchored in the centre of the settlementnew riverside walkways to create better connectivity where possible with the river.
